The most well known fact about Dalaman is its international airport which gets extremely busy over summer because of the many great locations, including Fethiye, Dalaman and Marmaris which are located around the South East coast of Turkey. The rural region of Dalaman provides a beautifully scenic countryside that goes on until you hit the coast with its pales sands and warm waters. On your holiday to Dalaman you will discover that it is an area that is blessed with much natural beauty as it is located between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains that fill the skyline. The nearby beach is Iztuzu and it is considered the best in the region because of its fine sands and calm atmosphere, it’s also a protected area because it is frequently visited by turtles though you are advised not to disturb them. There is a very popular walking trail in the area starting from a place called Gokbel and ending up at Iztuzu beach. Excursions are a good way to enjoy your Dalaman holiday as much of the coastal area as possible plus the fact there are some other popular resorts close by. You can make the hour or so journey to Marmaris to enjoy the high energy nightlife that is on offer. Fethiye has plenty of history which you can experience in the many ruins and monuments located in and around the town. Dalyan is very close and has plenty of exciting wildlife in the area like rare birds and loggerheaded turtles, there is some shopping facilities and a decent nightlife where many head to when on Dalaman holidays. Dalaman itself is more of a quiet getaway resort but with the nearby places previously mentioned it means you aren’t restricted to what you can do, resulting in active days and peaceful nights.
